Fallout Femmes vs RockTown Rollers

ENOLA, PA – On Sunday, August 2nd, 2009, Harrisburg Area Roller Derby hosted a bout between the Fallout Femmes and the RockTown Rollers from Harrisonburg, Virginia, at the Olympic Skating Center in Enola, PA. The bout, which began as a nail biter, ended with the home team pulling a nice 63 point win, with a final score of 178‐115.

The bout opened up with the Fallouts unleashing a strong defensive pack, allowing their jammer, Cybil Disobedience to blast off of the jammer line and put up a 14‐0 jam over RockTown’s Betty Crasher. Rocktown’s Killnitzki answered back in the next jam, with a 9‐3 jam over Harrisburg’s Disco Bloodbath. The penalties started kicking in early for RockTown, as by the second jam, they already had two blockers in the box. RockTown was digging in, and in the third frame, Harrisburg’s Asuka The Ouch only grabbed the jam by one point, scoring 8‐7 over RockTown’s Afro‐Die‐T. Rocktown’s Betty Crasher followed up with a 5‐0 shutout over Harrisburg’s Guido, and the RockTown Rollers were quickly closing the gap on the Fallout’s strong opening jam. The following jam saw RockTown’s Killnitzki pull a nice 12‐5 jam over Cybil Disobedience, which put the RockTown gals in front by 3 points, and by the seventh jam, RockTown had built up a 10 point lead. The Fallouts took two wins in the following jams, and began to close in. In the eleventh jam, Cybil Disobedience snagged an 8‐0 shutout over Ramsey McDirtbag, putting the Fallouts back in the lead by 1 point. Disco Bloodbath followed up with a 5‐4 win over Killnitzki, and in the next two jams, two first‐time skaters for the Fallouts were able to bring the Fallouts back to over a 10 point lead with Asuka The Ouch scoring a nice 11‐4 jam over Afro‐Die‐T, and Guido belting out a 7‐2 jam over Killnitzki. Asuka The Ouch again landed a 5‐0 shutout over Betty Crasher in the sixteenth jam, to end the period with the Fallouts leading 82‐66.

Disco Bloodbath opened up the second period with a 9‐4 win over RockTown’s Killnitzki, followed by a 9‐6 win for Asuka The Ouch over Afro‐Die‐T. In the third frame, with a strong defensive pack working for the Fallouts, jammer Cybil Disobedience dealt a searing 19‐0 crusher on RockTown’s Bam Bam Brawler, giving the Fallouts a healthy 43 point lead. In the fifth jam, RockTown’s Betty Crasher grabbed an 8‐4 win over Asuka the Ouch, and two jams later pulled a 9‐0 shutout over Disco Bloodbath. In the ninth frame, Cybil Disobedience again landed a 15‐0 win over Killnitzki, bringing the Fallouts to a 50 point lead halfway through the period. The next three jams saw RockTown remain scoreless with the Fallouts pulling single‐pass shutouts, the last of which, ended short when RockTown jammer Afro‐Die‐T suffered an injury and had to be treated by the EMTs. Unfortunately, she did not return to the game. The following jams were low scoring affairs going back and forth between teams. In jam seventeen, Cybil Disobedience again put up 8 unanswered points for the Fallouts. The final jam saw RockTown’s Killnitzki earn a 5‐0 shutout over Asuka The Ouch in a last attempt to close the gap in the score. The Fallouts won the bout 178‐115.

Also skating for the Fallout Femmes were Lady Of Blocksley, Betty Fishnetty, Bamm Bamm Brewskie, Rink Rash N Bash, Plenty O’Toole, Task Force Tam and Anida Blade. Also skating For the RockTown Rollers were Thro Sum Dz On Em, Vitamin V, Grim Nemesis, Janna‐Cide, Scarrs And Bars, Knasty Knitter, Demabrat, Super Charger and Six5 On Skates.

The highest scoring jam belonged to Harrisburg’s Cybil Disobedience, who scored 19 points in one jam. For the RockTown Rollers it was Killnitzki, who scored 12 points in a jam. Cybil Disobedience scored the most points, having scored 89 points, which was 50% of her team’s total. For Rocktown, it was Killnitzki, who scored 57 points, 49.6% of her team’s total. The highest scoring jammer was Harrisburg’s Cybil Disobedience who scored 89 points in 10 jams, averaging 8.9 points per jam. For RockTown, it was Afro-Die-T who scored 21 points in 5 jams, being an average of 3.29 points per jam. The Fallout Femmes averaged 5.09 points per jam throughout the game, and the RockTown Rollers averaged 3.29 points per jam. The highest jammer point differential also went to Harrisburg’s Cybil Disobedience who, having scored 89 points, only had 17 points scored against her giving her a nice differential of +72 points. For RockTown, it was Grim Nemesis, who scored 7 points with 4 points scored against her, giving her a differential of +3. Cybil Disobedience led the bout in jam leads, earning lead in 8 of her 10 jams, being 80% of her jams. For RockTown, it was Killnitzki, who earned lead in 8 of her 15 jams, being 53% of her jams. The Fallout Femmes earned lead jammer in 19 of the bout’s 35 jams, being 53% of the game. The RockTown Rollers earned lead in 14 of the 35 jams, being 40% of the game. The referees called a total of 122 penalties. The Fallout Femmes were awarded 44 minor penalties and 10 major penalties, for a total of 54 penalties called on them. The RockTown Rollers earned 41 minor penalties and 27 major penalties, for a total of 68 penalties called on them.
